The Safety and Security Directorate of the City of Cape Town (CoCT) has launched a cutting-edge 180-degree firearm simulator to enhance training programs for law enforcement officers. Costing R9 million, including installation and two years of support, the simulator boasts a vast scenario library and customization options to replicate officers’ local enforcement environments.

The first simulator is operational, with the second expected in three months. The advanced system, a first in sub-Saharan Africa, utilizes adapted firearms for realistic training, reducing operational costs like ammunition.
