Vuyiswa Ramokgopa, the National Chairperson of Rise Mzansi, has affirmed the party’s dedication to formulating a comprehensive plan to reset and rebuild South Africa. Addressing a sizable crowd of supporters at the inaugural manifesto launch held at the Heartfelt Arena in Pretoria on Saturday, Ramokgopa emphasized the party’s commitment to this transformative initiative, aligning with its preparations for the upcoming 2024 National and Provincial elections.
During her address, Ramokgopa asserted that over the past nine months, Rise Mzansi has solidified its position as the sole credible political alternative capable of leading the nation toward a secure, prosperous, egalitarian, and unified South Africa within one generation. She pointed to a leadership crisis contributing to the country’s economic and political decline, citing the plight of school-going children having to traverse rivers to reach school as a compelling reason for a change in leadership.
Poverty, hunger, and gender-based violence were pivotal themes addressed in her speech. Ramokgopa outlined the party’s quest to identify exemplary individuals from society to lead in Parliament and all nine Provincial Legislatures. She revealed that the Independent Nominations Committee has initiated the review of over 400 applications received.
Expressing optimism about securing more seats in Parliament to effectively represent the people, Ramokgopa highlighted Rise Mzansi’s national visibility and the establishment of provincial campaign teams for a comprehensive nationwide campaign. She characterized Rise Mzansi as a seed planted with the potential to uproot the mountain of corrupt, indifferent, and arrogant leadership.
