South Africa is experiencing a range of weather conditions, with several impact-based warnings issued for various provinces by the South African Weather Service. These warnings cover severe thunderstorms, disruptive rain, and extreme fire danger conditions in different regions.

Warnings and Alerts:

  • Yellow Level 2 Warning:
    Heavy rain is expected to cause flooding of roads, bridges, settlements, and low-lying areas in the extreme north-eastern parts of Limpopo.
  • Yellow Level 1 Warning (Severe Thunderstorms):
    Severe thunderstorms, with road flooding, hail, and strong winds, are expected over the central parts of Limpopo.
  • Yellow Level 1 Warning (Damaging Winds):
    Damaging winds along the coast, from Alexander Bay to Cape Point, will affect sea navigation, putting small vessels and personal watercraft at risk. Localized disruptions to small harbors and beachfront activities are also likely.
  • Fire Danger Warnings:
    Extreme fire danger conditions are forecast for parts of the Northern Cape and Western Cape, particularly in the Dawid Kruiper, Kai !Garib, and Kamiesberg municipalities in the Northern Cape, and Matzikama Municipality in the Western Cape.
