Johannesburg, South Africa – The City of Tshwane has revealed it has uncovered nearly 45 videos showing disturbing footage of patrons being physically and sexually assaulted by security personnel at the Zanzou nightclub in Hatfield. The videos, which have sparked widespread outrage, were filmed by a former employee who claims to have left his position due to the violent culture at the venue.

The nightclub has come under intense scrutiny after a shocking video surfaced earlier this week showing a group of young men being assaulted by the club’s security staff. In response, three of the victims have opened a case with the police, which has launched a manhunt for at least eight suspects involved in the abuse.

Tshwane Health MMC Tshegofatso Mashebla confirmed that the municipality had obtained some of the footage, and was working to acquire additional videos. “We received close to 45 videos, and we just saw a circulating video whereby the person who came out with this information says that he has 75 videos that he is going to share with the public, including the fact that there were lives of people that were robbed in this establishment,” Mashebla stated.

The individual who filmed the videos, a former security guard at Zanzou, is now considered a person of interest in the investigation. He has claimed to have recorded dozens of instances of abuse at the nightclub, which could further implicate the venue in serious criminal activity.

In light of the emerging evidence, Zanzou nightclub’s investors, partners, and businessmen associated with the establishment have denied any affiliation with the venue or knowledge of the abuse taking place.

The police are continuing to investigate the situation, with the search for the suspects intensifying. Authorities have also called for anyone with further information or additional footage to come forward.

Meanwhile, students and members of the community have taken to the streets, protesting the incidents and calling for accountability. Some students even blocked a truck attempting to collect stock and equipment from Zanzou nightclub, adding pressure for the authorities to take swift action.

The revelation of these abusive practices has sparked widespread outrage, and many are calling for stricter regulation of security companies operating in nightclubs to prevent further incidents of abuse.
